Experience and Expertise

Are you having trouble finding correct sized furniture to fit your space? Do you need extra storage, or a larger pantry? Don’t know where to begin?

Here are 4 easy steps to get you started

Step One

Get in Touch

Have you been putting projects on hold because they seem too hard? The first step is making the initial enquiry. We are here to help.

Step Two

Discuss your Requirements

If you know what you want us to make, it is very useful if you can provide a rough sketch of your idea with some measurements so that we can prepare a free quote for you.

Step Three

Measure and Quote

Don’t feel confident with a tape measure? No problem… We are happy to come and see you at home to chat about your needs and measure up. We do charge for in-home site visits.

Step Four

Designer help

Do you need help designing a new kitchen? We work closely with Karen, from Perfect Order kitchen design. To find out more about this process please click here.

Our kitchen design process

Step Five

Kitchen Design Approved

If you are working with Perfect Order kitchen design, Karen will work along side to create your new kitchen design. When you are happy with the final design and layout, Karen will guide you through the process of choosing your products and materials. She will then prepare a comprehensive list of specifications for Ladd Joinery to prepare their quote. Quotes will include delivery and installation of your kitchen (and removal of your old one, if you wish)

Step Six

Quote Accepted

Following acceptance of the quote, Karen will prepare a written contract, confirm the material selections, and list the accessories included in your quote. Karen will return to site with David Ladd, who will carry out a check measure while she goes through the contract & paper work with you. This is a time for you to meet David, and for you to chat through any questions. This visit normally takes 1 hour maximum. A deposit is required at this stage

Step Seven

Contract Signed

Once the contract is signed, Karen will remain your primary source of contact. She will check the final measurements are correct and then send your file over to our CAD team to begin the manufacture process and produce the final working drawings. Karen will co-ordinate the entire process of your kitchen manufacture. She works very closely with the CAD team to make sure every measurement is correct, all your accessories are ordered, and your benchtop goes into production. She will then prepare instructions for the boys in the workshop so they know exactly what goes where as they start to make your kitchen. Another set of instructions are prepared for our installer. A copy of the final working drawings are emailed to the installer, and to our Tradies, so they know where to put the new plumbing and electrical. This process usually takes from 4-6 weeks

Step Eight

View your finished Kitchen

When your kitchen is ready, we will invite you to our workshop in Tawa so that you can see your new kitchen laid out. You will walk through it with Karen, as she ticks off everything on your wish list to make sure you are 100% happy with it. This is a great time to notice if any small tweaks are required so that we can address them before we deliver to the site. A progress payment is required at this stage.

Step Nine

Kitchen is installed

A few days before your new kitchen is installed, the old one will be removed, and our Tradies (or yours) will take a few days to do the pre-wire and pre-plumb for the new layout. This is the time for the plasterer and painter to do any decorating if required. Karen can guide you through this process in conjunction with a project co-ordinator who works on contract with Karen. If you choose to work with a project co-ordinator, the cost for this service is great value for money and would require 1-2 hours at most.

Your kitchen will be delivered by David Ladd, fully assembled on the day of installation. The kitchen is un-loaded in the morning and the installer gets to work! The actual installation normally only takes a day, sometimes longer for larger kitchen. If you have chosen a stone benchtop, there will be a wait time of 15 working days for the bench top, as this will need to be templated from your cabinetry before manufacture can begin. We can provide temporary tops if required.

Step Ten

Once the kitchen installation is completed, Karen will return for a final check to make sure everything is completed to your satisfaction. She will also provide warranty documents and take photos with your permission. The final payment is required at this stage

My builder has been nothing but positive about the quality and finish of the kitchen joinery, and said he would be happy to have that in his own home – high praise indeed!
